About Us
Our Story
In 2020, The Migrant Kitchen Initiative launched Feed The Polls in partnership with Infatuation and Zagat to ensure that food insecurity does not prevent anyone from voting. Thanks to your help, we provided over 42,000 meals to voters waiting in line at polling sites across the US.
In 2024, along with our partners and dedicated volunteers, we returned to grow the impact at 15 polling locations in 7 states.
Access to food continues to be a challenge for over 42 million Americans and there has been a concerted effort by local and state officials to reinforce food insecurity as a barrier to voting.
53.7% of American adults are unable to afford enough food, the majority of whom are Black or Hispanic. We will continue to provide free meals at polling sites across the country to ensure that food insecurity does not prevent voters from making their voices heard.
